The order of prayer
Begin
Make the Sign of the Cross. You may add the optional opening prayers in the full chaplet text.
Pray the familiar opening prayers
Pray one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and the Apostles’ Creed.
On the large bead
Pray the offering beginning “Eternal Father,” using the Marian Fathers’ complete text (new tab).
On the ten small beads
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Repeat the large-bead offering and ten small-bead responses for each of the five decades.
Conclude
Pray the invocation to the Holy God three times. You may add an optional closing prayer from the complete text.
