Life of the Saints is an independent Catholic devotional resource for readers, families, and people preparing for Confirmation. It brings saint biographies, prayer, and practical activities together in one place.
How the biographies are prepared
Our historical biographies are adapted from Wikipedia articles under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0. Each life records the source title and revision, with separate notes for documented corrections. Attribution describes where a text came from; it does not mean that every statement has received independent scholarly or ecclesiastical review.
A focused September 2026 review added context and source notes to twenty frequently used lives, with specific corrections recorded on affected pages. This is not a claim that every statement in the full library has been independently verified.
We keep historical narrative separate from original reflections and prayers. Traditional accounts, legends, and uncertain details should retain their qualifications. A long biography may include differing historical interpretations; devotional use does not make every reported detail certain.
Feast dates and calendars
The daily saint feature matches fixed feast dates recorded in the biography library. We check corrected dates against Catholic sources such as the USCCB, Vatican publications, and religious communities, and name those references alongside the reading. Other dates retain their original biography-source attribution. The September 2026 review supplied documented dates and calendar context for 186 previously unresolved records. These records include local and Eastern commemorations as well as dates in the General Roman Calendar.
Some saints have several observances. The date notes distinguish the calendar or community when known. The daily feature and the saint listings are devotional guides, not a complete liturgical Ordo: Sundays, higher-ranking celebrations, transfers, and your diocese’s calendar may determine what is celebrated at Mass.
Learning together
Our family resources include fourteen short children’s stories and a four-week plan. Our parish resources include four guided sessions, participant handouts and original bulletin reflections. These materials are optional aids for discussion and prayer.
Prayer and patronage
Prayers are labeled as traditional, adapted, or original. A suggested companion for an interest or difficulty is not automatically an official patron. The finder distinguishes editorial suggestions from associations recorded in biographies.
Artwork and AI
Our saint portraits are AI-generated artistic interpretations, not authenticated historical likenesses. AI also assists with site development and drafting. A generated image or draft is not historical evidence. Read about the illustrations.
Review and corrections
This site does not claim an imprimatur or official endorsement by a diocese or religious order. A date-source check applies to the identified date, not the whole biography. Named reviewer credits will appear only where that person has actually reviewed the material.
