Day 1 of 9
Welcome the Spirit
Reflect
You do not need perfect words to begin praying. Offer God your attention, including distraction and uncertainty. This first day is an invitation to become receptive: to listen before deciding, to ask before assuming, and to leave room for grace in a day that already feels full.

Holy Spirit, come into the ordinary places of my life. Receive the intention I bring to this novena. Quiet the noise that keeps me from listening, and awaken my desire for God. Teach me to recognize opportunities for goodness and to respond with a willing, attentive heart. Amen.
Day 2 of 9
Ask for wisdom
Reflect
Wisdom asks more than whether a choice is impressive or immediately useful. It considers what leads toward love of God and genuine care for others. Place a decision in that wider light. Look beyond approval and convenience, and consider the kind of person your repeated choices are forming.

Spirit of wisdom, help me judge my choices by what is truly good. Free me from the need to impress and from decisions made only for comfort. Show me what deserves my attention today. Form in me a love that sees beyond the immediate moment and cares for those affected by my actions. Amen.

Seek understanding
Reflect
Understanding grows when we are willing to learn instead of rushing to certainty. A passage of Scripture, an honest question, or a patient teacher may reveal something we have overlooked. Bring your questions into prayer. Faith can include the humility to admit that more study and reflection are needed.

Holy Spirit, open my mind and heart to the truth of the Gospel. Help me listen carefully, ask sincere questions, and welcome sound teaching. When I encounter something difficult, keep me from both impatience and easy dismissal. Deepen my faith through study, reflection, and a desire to know God more fully. Amen.

Welcome good counsel
Reflect
A strong feeling is not always a reliable guide. Discernment benefits from prayer, sound judgment, and counsel from people who can speak honestly. Notice whether you are seeking advice or merely seeking agreement. Make room for a perspective that may challenge your preferred answer without diminishing your freedom.

Spirit of counsel, guide me in the choices before me. Help me distinguish urgency from importance and fear from a prudent concern. Lead me toward wise, trustworthy advice. Give me humility to hear it, patience to consider it, and courage to act responsibly when the next step becomes clear. Amen.

Receive fortitude
Reflect
Courage often appears as a small act of faithfulness performed despite discomfort. It may mean telling the truth, asking for help, or standing beside someone who has been overlooked. Ask for the strength to do what is right without becoming reckless, harsh, or dependent on another person's applause.

Holy Spirit, strengthen me where fear makes me hesitate to do good. Give me courage joined to prudence and conviction joined to kindness. Help me fulfill my responsibilities, seek help when I need it, and defend another person's dignity. Sustain those whose faithfulness today requires unusual strength. Amen.

Grow in knowledge
Reflect
Knowledge should help us recognize both God's gifts and our responsibility toward them. Consider how you use your abilities, possessions, and influence. Receiving a gift does not make it yours to waste or use carelessly. Ask how something entrusted to you might better serve another person's good.

Spirit of truth, help me see the gifts I have received and the limits of my own understanding. Teach me to use knowledge with humility and resources with care. Protect me from spreading what is false. Let what I learn make me more responsible, more grateful, and more willing to serve. Amen.

Pray with a child's trust
Reflect
Reverence and closeness can belong together in prayer. You may approach God with trust while remembering that he is not an instrument for getting your own way. Bring your needs as a child brings them to a loving father, with honesty, affection, and openness to being guided.

Holy Spirit, teach me to turn toward the Father with trust. Replace cold formality with sincere devotion, and selfish demands with a heart ready to listen. Help me pray in joy and in weariness. Deepen my love for the Church and for the brothers and sisters with whom I share the journey. Amen.

Live with reverence
Reflect
Wonder can interrupt the habit of treating everything as something to consume. A human life, the natural world, and the time entrusted to us deserve care. Reverence does not drive us away from God in panic; it teaches us to take love seriously and to resist what damages it.

Spirit of holiness, awaken in me a deep reverence for God and for all that he has made. Keep me from treating another person as a means to my own ends. Help me recognize the seriousness of my choices without losing trust in mercy. Teach me to walk humbly and gratefully. Amen.

Bear good fruit
Reflect
The fruit of prayer becomes visible in how we live with others. Look for changes in patience, generosity, self-control, and willingness to forgive. Progress may be quiet and incomplete. Ask the Holy Spirit to continue the work begun in these nine days, especially where you most need to grow.
