Begin with what is small
Reflect
You may feel that your time, ability, or strength is too limited to offer anything significant. Begin with one act of love that is possible today. Its worth need not depend on its size or visibility. Let this novena become practice in offering what you actually have.

Father, through St. Thérèse's intercession, help me trust that a small act of love matters. Receive the intention I bring and the limitations I struggle to accept. Free me from comparison. Show me one good thing I can do today, and help me offer it with a sincere heart. Amen.
Day 2 of 9
Trust before you feel worthy
Reflect
It is tempting to postpone prayer until you have become the person you think you should be. Trust allows you to come to God while growth is still unfinished. Bring a weakness without using it as an excuse. Ask for mercy and one concrete beginning.

Love the person beside you
Reflect
Care for distant needs can coexist with impatience toward the people nearest us. Notice someone whose ordinary presence you take for granted. A thoughtful answer, shared task, or patient listening may be the act of love available today. Begin with their actual need rather than your preferred gesture.

Lord Jesus, through St. Thérèse's intercession, make me attentive to the people closest to me. Help me notice what I overlook and respond without keeping score. Give me patience with familiar weaknesses and gratitude for familiar kindnesses. Teach me to make room for another person's needs in the middle of my plans. Amen.
Day 4 of 9
Be gentle after a mistake
Reflect
A mistake can lead either to repair or to hours of self-accusation that change nothing. Admit what happened, seek forgiveness where needed, and begin again. Gentleness toward yourself is not indifference to wrongdoing. It can make the next responsible action possible.

An unnoticed task may reveal how much you rely on being thanked. It is natural to appreciate recognition, but love can also work quietly. Offer one useful act without turning silence into resentment. Remember that serving freely includes honest limits and does not require neglecting your own basic needs.

Some days prayer feels warm and others feel empty. A lack of emotion does not make your attempt insincere. Stay for a simple, realistic time and offer your attention as it is. Let faithfulness be measured by returning, not by producing a particular feeling.

Love can widen through intercession for people you may never meet. Remember those who teach, serve, bring the Gospel, or work in places of conflict. Prayer does not require knowing every detail of their lives. It can awaken a willingness to support the good they are doing.

Choose love in an interruption
Reflect
An interruption may reveal the difference between the loving person we imagine and the response we actually give. Not every request can be accepted, but even a limit can be expressed kindly. Ask how to respond with attention rather than automatic irritation. Small moments become practice in freedom.
