Open today’s feast-day reading or the calendar. Read the date note: it may name a country, religious community or older calendar. For what is celebrated at Mass, follow your parish or diocese.

Choose a short children’s story or a few suitable paragraphs from a full biography. Explain words such as “according to tradition.” Ask each person to name one detail they noticed.
Connect with your day · 5 minutes
Ask: What choice did this saint face? What is different about our lives? What good action can we learn from the story without trying to copy every circumstance?
Pray · 2 minutes
God, thank you for the people who show us your love. Through the prayers of your saints, help our household grow in faith, hope and charity. Amen.

Choose a next step · 5 minutes
Make a thank-you note, call someone who would welcome a conversation, or choose a needed service task. A shared snack or meal can be part of the gathering, but no special purchase is necessary.
Write your plan on the family reflection sheet. If the saint’s story is difficult for your child, choose another story and explain that not every full biography is written for young readers.
