Small love, faithfully practiced
Thérèse of Lisieux points us toward love expressed in ordinary actions. This week, choose one useful kindness that fits your real life: listen without interrupting, complete an overlooked task, or offer encouragement. Let the action be small enough to do and thoughtful enough to matter. Afterward, bring the person you helped into prayer.

A welcome with room to breathe
John Bosco devoted his ministry to young people who needed care and education. His example invites a practical question for our parish: how does someone new know they are welcome? Offer directions, explain what happens next, and make an invitation without pressure. A small act of attention can help a neighbor find their place.

Ask before helping
Martin de Porres made practical care for others central to his life. We can begin by asking what help is actually needed. Before organizing a collection or a visit, listen to the people involved and to the ministry serving them. Respectful service treats neighbors as people with voices and choices, not simply as needs to be solved.

A habit of listening
Benedict’s Rule helped a community shape its shared life through prayer, work and care. Our circumstances are different, but we can still choose a modest rhythm: a moment of prayer, a task done attentively, and a welcome offered to another person. Begin small. If a day goes badly, return tomorrow with patience.
