Easter is more than one day. The Church celebrates the Resurrection through the fifty days leading to Pentecost. Let joy become gratitude, hope, and renewed love.
A prayer for Easter
Read a Resurrection account
Choose Luke 24 or John 20–21. Notice the different people Jesus meets and the ways they recognize him. Read a short section more than once rather than rushing through every account.
Pray with Mary
The Regina Caeli is commonly prayed instead of the Angelus in Easter Time. The Glorious Mysteries invite reflection on the Resurrection, Ascension, and the coming of the Holy Spirit, as well as Mary’s glory in heaven.
Keep a practice of mercy
Continue one good habit from Lent. Welcome someone to a meal, make time for a person who is lonely, or support a work of mercy. You can also use the Divine Mercy Chaplet guide.
Prepare for Pentecost
Pray Come, Holy Spirit. Ask where you need wisdom, courage, or patience. Let each family member name a way to encourage another person.
Prayer and family suggestions are original. See your parish calendar for local celebrations.
